Online database, users grow, says Equus

June 16, 2010

Equus Products Inc. has passed the 100,000 registered users mark for its two-year-old RepairSolutions service on its CanOBD2.com Web site.

RepairSolutions gives professional automotive technicians and do-it-yourselfers "an affordable way" to tap into its extensive knowledge base, which includes real-life fixes and repair procedures. More than 1,000 new customers register each week, says Keith Andreasen, ASE double-master technician and the director of technical services for Innova diagnostic tools.

Tens of thousands of real-life fixes for actual in-use failures can be found in RepairSolutions' VIN-specific, Internet database. Diagnostic data and solutions for most 1996 and newer OBD2-compliant cars, light trucks, minivans and SUVs, both foreign and domestic, are available.

The growing database is supplemented by OEM data-licensed information from original equipment manufacturers, the Equipment and Tool Institute and Cengage Learning Inc.

RepairSolutions at CanOBD2 can be used by anyone who owns an on-board diagnostic tool, according to the company. For more information, visit www.CanOBD2.com.
