Purcell Tire & Rubber Co. continues to make headlines. The Potosi, Mo.-based dealership has announced the acquisition of Quality Tire Co., which specializes in commercial truck, OTR and retread services and has nine outlets in Utah, Idaho, Montana and Colorado.
Purcell, one of the ten largest commercial tire dealerships in the United States, yesterday announced that it has joined the Michelin Commercial Service Network and is now a Michelin retreader. (The company also has joined Michelin's ONCall emergency roadside service program.)
“We are really happy to welcome Quality Tire into the Purcell family," say Purcell Tire owners Bob and Juanita Purcell. "This acquisition demonstrates our continued desire for expansion and our continued efforts to provide for a more secure future for our employees. We know that with our companies together, we will do great things.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Quality Tire was founded as Quality Oil & Tire in 1952. Alden Padfield, who started working for Quality Tire in the 1970's and assumed the role and chairman and CEO in 2020, has transitioned management of the dealership to his sons-in-laws, Scott Hanson and Gregory Robinson.
The acquisition expands Purcell's footprint, which also encompasses locations in Missouri, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Texas, Nevada and Washington.
