When Bridgestone Retail Operations opens 58 new stores in 2021, it will be a coast-to-coast effort, with the tiremaker opening the doors to company-owned stores in 25 states.
Of those 25 states, 16 also had a new store open in 2020.
Last year, Bridgestone opened 52 new stores in the U.S.. That means in a two-year span — with a pandemic underfoot — Bridgestone expects to open 110 new locations.
“We are excited to continue expanding our retail footprint in 2021 as we solidify our position as the most trusted tire and automotive service provider in every neighborhood we serve.” Those were the words in the company's original announcement of Marko Ibrahim, who in January took over the top spot overseeing Bridgestone's company-owned outlets.
A Bridgestone spokeswoman tells Modern Tire Dealer that 56 of the 58 new stores planned for 2021 will open under the Firestone Complete Auto Care banner. The other two outlets will use the Tires Plus brand name.
Here's a look at the states getting new stores in 2021. An asterisk marks the states that also had new stores open in 2020.
