Yokohama Tire Corp. is rolling out its new trailer tire, the 114R medium truck tire, which is designed for fleets and owner-operators who are looking to maximize tire life in regional haul and spread-axle operations. The tire will be available on March 1.
The SmartWay-verified 114R will be available in the United States in six sizes: 11R22.5, 295/75R22.5, 285/75R24.5, 11R24.5, 255/70R22.5 and 275/70R22.5.
Yokohama will be displaying the 114R at the upcoming Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) meeting in Orlando, Fla.
“With its high-scrub tread compound and rounded shoulder ribs, the all-new 114R is definitely built to last,” says Tom Clauer, senior manager of commercial product planning, Yokohama.
Features and benefits of the 114R include round shoulder ribs designed to resist curb damage; tread depth that delivers “maximum fuel efficiency” and improves wear; funnel-shaped step grooves to prevent stone damage; and more.
