Michelin North America Inc. has expanded its X Line Energy long-haul commercial truck tire line with the addition of the new Michelin X Line Energy Z+.
The new tire features Michelin's Infinicoil and Regenion technologies.
Infinicoil is comprised of a continuous steel wire that is wrapped around the tire's circumference to make it more stable and durable.
Regenion uses "metal 3D printing techniuques that enable the tread design to evolve over time as it wears, giving drivers the grip they need over the service life of the tire in all conditions," according to Michelin officials.
The product's 18/32-inch tread design also "allows additional tread grooves to develop at lower tread depths," notes Karen Schwartz, B2B vice president of marketing, Michelin.
"This gives a cost-competitive advantage to owners as the tire performance will be enhanced, allowing for longer use, less irregular wear and new tire-like traction throughout the tread life."
The Michelin X Line Energy Z+ will launch during the third quarter of 2023 and will be offered in size 295/75R22.5, Load Rating H.
