Yokohama Tire Corp. announced the size expansion for two of its commercial tires, the 124R and the 714R.
The 124R, a long-lasting all-position radial tire for pick-ups and delivery fleets, has three new sizes – 225/70R19.5, 275/70R22.5 and 255/70R22.5. This brings the total number of sizes to 12.
The all-season 124R also carries the 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake certification (3PMS).
The 714R, engineered for urban pick-up and delivery applications and is an open-shoulder drive tire, is available in one new size – 255/70R22.5. This brings the total number of sizes to four for this tire.
The new size for 714R also carries the 3PMS certification.
“The 124R is built for lasting value,” says Tom Clauer, senior manager of commercial product planning for Yokohama.
“It delivers fleets a boost to their bottom line with longer original tread life and year-round performance.”
Other features of the 124R include deep sipes for wet and snow braking; an extra-wide tread for better contact pressure; and rock shield performance and a six-year unlimited retread casing warranty on all 17.5-inch and 19.5-inch sizes and a seven-year warranty on all 22.5-inch sizes.
“The 714R features sturdy construction and outstanding fuel efficiency, making it the perfect addition to any pickup and delivery fleet,” says Clauer.
“With its wide shoulder grooves, which provide outstanding wet and snow traction, you’ll never miss a stop.”
Features of the 714R include open shoulder grooves for wet and snow traction; a wide tread pattern for controlling ground contact pressure; funnel-shaped step grooves to prevent stones from reaching the bottom of the casing; and more.
The 714R is backed by Yokohama’s seven-year unlimited retread casing warranty.
Both tires will be on display in Yokohama's booth #3139 at the TMC show in New Orleans, La. from March 4-7.
