Michelin Unveils Two X Force Tires

Nov. 1, 2024

Michelin North America Inc. has unveiled its Michelin X Force Winter and Michelin X Force ZL tires.

The tires were engineered for military ground forces, emergency first responders and utility workers.

The Michelin X Force Winter is designed for winter mobility and durability. It offers improved grip in severe winter conditions and braking in snow and ice.

“The Michelin X Force Winter tire offers an aggressive, deep open tread pattern developed with damage-resistant rubber,” says Todd Hanlon, director of enterprise government and military sales for Michelin North America, Inc.

“The extra strength built into the tire shoulder helps to resist cutting, and the strong sidewall is designed to operate at various pressures thanks to its Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) compatibility. This tire is made to meet the harsh winter conditions professionals around the world often encounter.”

The Michelin X Force Winter will initially be available in North America in the 16.00R20 size followed by 14.00R20, 365/85R20 and 395/85R20 before becoming available globally in the future.

The Michelin X Force ZL is designed for off-road vehicles that drive on all terrains requiring maximum mobility and versatility.

“When the terrain fights back, the Michelin X Force ZL fights harder,” says Hanlon.

“Its deep, aggressive tread pattern bites into loose soil, rock and sand, delivering unbeatable traction in the harshest conditions. Add in the extra shield protection against cuts, and you have a tire that keeps going when others fail. Whether navigating sharp rocks or soft mud, the Michelin X Force ZL is designed to get you through the most unforgiving terrain."

The Michelin X Force ZL’s casing is designed to operate at various pressures thanks to its compatibility with CTIS. It is also designed to improve winter traction while remaining compatible with snow chains.

The Michelin X Force ZL will be available in North America in the following sizes: 365/80R20, 14.00R20 and 16.00R20.
