Tire Technology Expo 2009, to be held Feb. 17-19 at Hamburg Messe in Germany, will feature more than 140 exhibitors and a three-day conference
program.
This tire manufacturing technology exhibition and conference also will feature the Tire Technology International Awards for Innovation and Excellence, which will be announced at the event’s gala dinner on the 18th.
Show officials report, "Tire Technology Expo 2009 arrives at an interesting time, shortly after the European Parliament has undertaken its first reading of the proposed new tire industry legislation that is scheduled to be introduced in 2012. The proposed new legislation, which seeks to simplify standards whilst putting an emphasis on the environmental credentials of tires, has received a mixed response from industry stakeholders and will dominate discussion throughout the show."
“The tire manufacturing industry is hugely complex and any legislative changes that have far reaching implications will always generate debate and opinion,” says Colin Scott, sales and marketing director for Tire Technology Expo. “The show’s comprehensive conference program will be particularly fascinating this year as technology development is moving at such a demanding pace.”
Many new products will be introduced at the expo, including pressure sensor electronics, additives and adhesion resins, valve technology, weaving systems, and X-ray inspection and testing equipment.
Conference sessions will include:Day 1: Tire technology against increasing costs: Tire manufacturers – can they meet customer expectations: The ‘making’ of the future.
Day 2: Tire regulations, a force for progress or a farce?: Predicting the properties of rubber compounds: The tire as an integral component: What is the future for steel and non-steel cords?: Getting increased value from tire compounding additives: The performance of tires off-road.
Day 3: The intelligent tire’s role in vehicle electronic systems: The consequences for tires of their more complex lifestyle and longer life potential: Synthetic polymers – how can they help the green tire?
