Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS) is displaying truck tires that have been certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) SmartWay program at this week's Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.
The tires include the Bridgestone R287 steer tire, the R280 steer, the M&20 drive, the R195F trailer and the company's Greatec wide-base tire.
SmartWay program tires have achieved at least 3% better total vehicle fuel economy than the EPA-defined average, or a 15% reduction in rolling resistance per wheel position, say BBTS officials.
