Edenton, N.C.-based Colony Tire Corp. has acquired three Tire Centers LLC commercial locations in Virginia from Michelin North America Inc. as of today, May 12.
The outlets are in Norfolk, Newport News and Belle Haven, Va., says Colony Tire CEO Charlie Creighton, who was Modern Tire Dealer's Tire Dealer of the Year in 2007.
The Norfolk location also includes a Michelin Retread Technologies Inc. plant. The Newport News and Belle Haven outlets are commercial tire sales and service centers.
The Newport News outlet "is fairly good sized," says Creighton, with the ability to offer consumer tires.
Colony Tire has 45 locations, making it the 22nd largest independent tire store chain in the U.S., according to MTD research.
