Next month, Groupe Michelin will introduce what it calls the "market's first 295/60R22.5 multi-purpose tire," the Michelin X MultiWay XD medium truck tire. The tire is designed for large-capacity trucks.
It's scheduled to hit the market in Europe on Aug. 1, say Michelin officials.
Engineered using Michelin Durable Technologies, the X MultiWay XD contains a self-regenerating tread "that continues to deliever superior grip even when the tire is two-thirds used."
The tire is available in two additional sizes, 315/70R22.5 and 315/60R22.5. Michelin has not announced if or when it will be available for the North American market.
