Watts Tyre Group has a new, twofold strategy in France. First, it signed an agreement with Trelleborg Industrial Tires Europe for the distribution of Trelleborg industrial tire products in France.
As part of the agreement, Watts will integrate Trelleborg’s industrial tire activities with its own, and will distribute Trelleborg tire products alongside the Watts product range.
Second, Watts will formally divide its French operations into a wholesale distribution business and a specialist service operation.
The service business will trade under the Interfit name and will be the exclusive distributor of Trelleborg industrial tyre products in France.
“We believe this to be a hugely significant development both for us as a tire business and for the French market," says Chief Executive Jean-Paul Mindermann. "We are combining our expertise and service capability with Trelleborg’s range of products to create a truly focused service business that offers a clear value to the materials handling market."
Watts Tyre Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Premia Group Ltd., produces a wide range of solid industrial tires, pneumatic and skid steer loader tires, and polyurethane tires "for high load and specialist applications." It has operations in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the United States, Uruguay and Mexico.
