Modern Tire Dealer received four medals, including two gold, for editorial excellence from the 22nd International Automotive Media Awards (IAMA).
Entered in the Magazine Writing and Graphics divisions, MTD took home the following Foundation Award medallions:
* Gold, Personality Profile category, “Follow the Leader(s),” Bob Ulrich.
* Gold, Cover Design catgory, October 2012, Neal Weingart.
* Silver, Best Single Issue, Performance Handbook, Lori Mavrigian, Bob Bissler, Ulrich and Weingart.
* Bronze, Editorial category, “Driving in our country is a gas, gas, gas,” Ulrich.
The "Follow the Leader(s)” story profiled MTD's 2012 Tire Dealer of the Year, Bob Sullivan, president of Sullivan Tire Co. Inc. in Norwell, Mass.
Mike Antich, editor of MTD's sister publication, Automotive Fleet, won a gold medal in the Feature category for "Top 5 Challenges Facing Commercial Fleets."
The IAMA's "Best of 2012" winner for all media was Bob Long for his Autoworld Radio interview "Design Perspectives: Up Close with Ford's Fusion for 2013 with Chief Designer Jay Mays." It won gold in the Introduction of New Models radio category.
The purpose of the International Automotive Media Awards is to "recognize and encourage excellence in all forms of automotive media."
The IAMA is part of the International Automotive Media Competition (IAMC). Both are administered, produced and owned by the International Society for Vehicle Preservation.
