The English Premier League champion Chelsea Football Club players officially are wearing Yokohama over their hearts, as the team dons its new uniforms sponsored by Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd.
The team will show off the new unfiroms for the first time in the United States during a preseason match against the New York Red Bulls of the Major League Soccer (MLS) league on July 22. That's the same day the new uniform will be available for sale.
The team will wear the Yokohama uniform for its U.K. debut on Aug. 2 at Wembley Stadium during a FA Community Shield match against Arsenal.
Yokohama and the team announced its five-year partnership in February.
Here's a rundown of the first matches where Chelsea will wear the new uniforms:
July 22 vs. New York Red Bulls Preseason match in New Jersey
July 25 vs. Paris Saint-German FC Preseason match in Charlotte, N.C.
July 28 vs. FC Barcelona Preseason match in Washington, D.C.
Aug. 2 vs. Arsenal Community Shield at Wembley Stadium in London. (This is an annual match pitting the Premier League champion (Chelsea) against the FA Cup holder (Arsenal.)
Aug. 5 vs. ACF Fiorentina Preseason match at Stamford Bridge in London
August 8 vs. Swansea Premier League opener at Stamford Bridge in London
