Singh Ahluwalia, president of truck and bus sales for Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS), will retire on March 1, 2009. Kurt Danielson, BBTS vice president of marketing, will assume Ahluwalia's post on Nov. 1 to ensure a smooth transition.
Ahluwalia joined Bridgestone in 1977 as a marketing analyst. Since then, he has held a variety of positions in sales, marketing, motorsports and other categories.
"Singh's contributions to our company are legion," says BBTS President Saul Solomon. "Almost all of our major milestones in (the truck and bus tire) business occurred during Singh's tenure... above all, it was Singh's vision that ultimately led to our merger with Bandag Inc.," which was finalized June 2007.
