AME International announced this week the release of its 11950 Bead Seat Band Installer during the Off-The-Road (OTR) Tire Conference.
According to AME, the bead seat band of a tire can weigh more than 200 pounds and picking up the tire with the tire hand and rotating it to vertical for mounting can cause the bead seat band to fall out and damage the band, crane, crane hydraulics or even worse the technician.
Brett Waggoner, vice president sales, AME International’s ACME Division, says the bead seat band installer "is a specialty tool for earthmover tire fitters that aids in tire changing by taking the labor out of assembling the rim components.”
He added, “the 11950 Bead Seat Band Installer uses 10 tons of hydraulic force to install bead seat bands in earthmover tires. Use of our tool makes the bead seating installation process faster, safer and more efficient.”
