Innova Electronics Corp. has produced its first diagnostic tablet, the Innova 7111 Smart Diagnostic System (SDS), to provide technicians with an efficient, all-in-one tool to help them fix problems on today's vehicles more easily.
The SDS features direct, built-in access to Innova's RepairSolutions2 knowledgebase, which houses more than 60 million fixes that have been verified for accuracy by ASE Certified master technicians.
The 7111 Smart Diagnostic System features a touch-screen user interface so technicians can find detailed information quickly by category, including emissions system status, vehicle codes and severity, adaptations, relearning, calibration and initialization. Other advanced features include the ability to conduct bi-directional system testing and diagnostic routines; OEM enhanced level diagnostics; trip cycle and service resets.
This tablet also provides a complete Network Scan with diagnostic results for supported vehicles to monitor the status of control modules such as power door locks, remote keyless entry and HVAC systems operation. This feature allows technicians and auto repair businesses to identify and notify consumers about issues beyond those detected in a visual inspection. That diagnosis can help drivers reduce roadside failures, and also help the repair business add to sales tickets.
“The Smart Diagnostic System was developed with input from master automotive technicians to meet Innova’s stringent design standards and commitment to developing intuitive products that make it easier and faster to diagnose and repair vehicles,” says Bob Madison, Innova’s director of technical services. “Longtime Innova users will recognize that the user interface on the new smart tablet resembles the all-in-one patented screen that has made Innova one of the world’s top OBD2 tool providers.”
The SDS provides technicians with vehicle-specific inspection reports and fixes, guided diagnostics and troubleshooting information to efficiently find and fix problems related to a vehicle’s on board diagnostic system. It highlights recommended parts and offers the ability to purchase parts within the app.
Printable reports also show scheduled and unscheduled service maintenance, factory and NHTSA recalls, technical service bulletins and predictive diagnostics to alert users about potential issues with their vehicle. The tablet also includes remote diagnostic support and updates from Innova’s ASE Certified technical support team.
