There were 66 tire plants in North America on Jan. 1, 2000. Today there are 55, with Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s Albany, Ga., plant set to close in the future.
Will there be any more plant closings? Odds are the answer is "yes," but which ones?
Although he doesn't handicap the remaining plants in his latest blog, Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich does list the "Five signs a tire plant may be closed."
