Pirelli Tyre SpA has launched its Winter Snowcontrol Series II, an environmentally-friendly, high performance winter tire developed for small to mid-sized vehicles.
The tire line joins the year-old ultra-high performance Sottozero Series II line in Pirelli's winter tire offerings. It is a Europe-only fitment.
An evolution of Snowcontrol Series I, the new Series II offers many innovative technological solutions for improved safety and reliability on snowy and icy asphalt, wet and muddy road surfaces, according to the company. It also was desinged to ride quietly and features low rolling resistance and compounding free fromhighly aromatic oils.
The Winter Snowcontrol Series II will be available in June in the following T-rated sizes:
14-inch: 165/70R14, 175/65R14, 185/65R14 and 185/60R14.
15-inch: 195/65R15, , 185/60R15 XL, 185/65R15 and 195/60R15.
16-inch: 205/55R16.
One size, 195/65R15, is H-rated.
