Two original equipment contracts were recently announced. One involves a broad line tire. The other showcases an ultra-high performance tire.
The global pacts are as follows.
Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. with Toyota Motor Corp.
This partnership is a first between the companies. Hankook will supply the "micro-premium" Toyota iQ with size 175/65R15 84S tires. The name of the line has not yet been released.
The Toyota iQ’s that are fitted with Hankook OE tires are being built in Japan and shipped to Europe for sale.
"We look forward to working closely with them to further strengthen and expand this partnership," says Soo Il Lee, president of Hankook Tire America Corp.
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. with Chrysler Group LLC.
The 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee will be equipped with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires, size P245/45R20. The tire features an asymmetric tread design with large tread blocks on the outer shoulder that help the 470-horsepower vehicle grip and corner on dry surfaces.
The Super Bee models are also available with Goodyear Eagle RS-A 2 all-season tires.
