Pirelli Tire North America Inc. has launched the new Scorpion MS, a high-performance all-season tire created as original equipment for the latest generation of SUVs.
The Scorpion MS is the heir to the Scorpion Verde All Season and Scorpion Zero All Season.
The new tire is built with the company’s Eco-Safety Design which allows for “better grip in wet and dry conditions and reduces rolling resistance,” according to officials. It is also designed for light off-road use and snow driving.
In total, 75% of original equipment Scorpion MS projects feature the Elect technology for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. For example, the Maserati Grecale Folgore has two Pirelli Scorpion MS fitments.
Features of the new tire tread pattern include a new formulation of polymer and resin for grip and braking; sipes to help snow performance; acoustic and plastic comfort to reduce tire noise; a single ply carcass that improves steering precision; and more.
