Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. has introduced the new Toyo Proxes Sport 2, a performance summer tire designed for gas, hybrid and electric sports cars, CUVs and SUVs.
The Proxes Sport 2 incorporates a redesigned profile shape to enhance cornering traction and a dual silica tread compound on the inside and outside of the tire to provide optimal grip and resist deformation.
The new tire also features an asymmetrical tread pattern with a dynamic taper design element for consistent contact with the road to maximize acceleration and braking.
“The Proxes Sport 2 boasts a 15% shorter stopping distance in wet conditions and 10% shorter on dry surfaces, along with improved handling performance over its predecessor, the Proxes Sport,” says Kevin Arima, senior manager, consumer products, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.
“These improvements enhance the driver’s experience rain or shine on twisty canyon roads or around town.”
The Proxes Sport 2 tire will be produced in over 75 sizes fitting 17- to 22-inch wheel diameters in Y and (Y) speed ratings, all while carrying a 25,000-mile treadwear warranty.
The new tire will be available in February 2025.
