Kumho Launches Aggressive Mud-Terrain Tire

Dec. 3, 2019

Kumho Tire USA Inc.’s new Road Venture MT71 features an aggressive tread design for optimal off-road traction; extra cut and chip resistance; seven integrated steel and fabric layers for extra toughness; three-ply, high-strength construction; two steel cord layers; two nylon protection plies; and other features.

During pre-launch testing, the tire scored well in slick rock traction, forward traction, front path stability, side-bite capability, side slope traction and a wide range of additional performance dynamics, according to Kumho officials. In addition, its aggressive sidewall design is intended to appeal to light truck owners who place a premium on appearance.

The Road Venture MT71, which will hit the market in January 2020, has been in development for nearly two years. It will be available in 27 sizes that, combined, will cover 83% of the mud-terrain segment.
