Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC (BATO) has won the Governor's Environmental Stewardship Award from the State of Tennessee.
The award specifically recognized BATO's Warren County, Tenn., plant, which operates a state-of-the-art science classroom via the Bridgestone Environmental Education Classroom and Habitat program.
"Instruction (at the facility) takes place on outdoor nature trails," as well as in a classroom setting, say BATO officials. Students learn about wildlife, recycling and other subjects.
