Nokian Refreshes All-Terrain Options With Outpost nAT

March 28, 2023

Nokian Tyres Inc. is updating its lineup of all-terrain tires with the Outpost nAT, a tire that will be produced in Dayton, Tenn., and sold exclusively in North America.

The Outpost nAT will replace Nokian’s Outpost AT.

Nokian says the nAT signifies the tire is made for North American all-terrain, as well as new all-terrain.

Nokian says dealers can place orders for the tire now, and the tiremaker will begin filling orders “in the coming weeks and months as production in Dayton grows.”

Compared to its predecessor, the Outpost nAT’s profile is more squared, with supports between the tread blocks that provide a more aggressive look. The summit sidewalls add to the aggressive look, while the smooth sidewalls and raised lettering enhance the rugged aesthetics.

The tire features the most popular attributes of the Outpost AT, with Aramid Tough Shield protection for the tread and sidewalls, which protects from damage from potholes and on-and off-road hazards. The tire is covered by Nokian’s Pothole Protection program.

Canyon cuts where the tread and shoulders meet give extra grip on mixed surfaces. The tire made with an all-weather compound, and it comes with the 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol.

The Outpost nAT joins the Outpost APT, a slightly less aggressive tire, in the company’s all-terrain portfolio.

“We are thrilled to offer the Nokian Tyres Outpost nAT exclusively to drivers in the U.S. and Canada,” says Nokian Tyres Vice President of PCT North America Tommi Heinonen. “We believe this new tire will build on its predecessor, the Outpost AT, because it is tailored to drivers here in North America.”

The new tire comes as Nokian works to double the production at its Tennessee factory to four million tires annually by 2024.
