Autel U.S. has added electric vehicle (EV) diagnostic and maintenance training to its training classes on Oct. 3rd and 4th at Autel’s headquarters in Port Washington, N.Y.
The 16-hour course is given over two days and will instruct students about hybrid and electric vehicles with hands-on learning. Classes are intended for current and potential owners of the Autel EV diagnostic tablet.
Topics covered in the session include battery-pack analysis; battery maintenance system controls; and the workings of converters, inverters and motor generators.
“There are nearly three million plug-in electric vehicles on the United States roads today, with new EV and hybrid models released yearly by new and legacy brands,” says John Forro, trainer and EV diagnostics specialist for Autel.
“The time is now for shop owners and technicians to start or continue their electric vehicle diagnostics training and expand their customer base to EV drivers.”
Forro says classes are limited to twenty students and Autel also offers a two-day course on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) calibrations with an overview of diagnostic and alignment processes.
