The Coker Group is back — and after a five year hiatus where the parent company of Coker Tire and a range of other enthusiast-related businesses operated under the umbrella of Legendary Companies — that umbrella is rebranding and returning to the Coker Group name.
The rebranding was one of a number of announcements the company made during the 2024 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.
Mark Mooberry, commercial vice president of the Coker Group, said the company is expanding its product coverage to fill gaps, and will serve as the exclusive distributor in North America for the Avon, Dunlop and Ensign tire brands.
Coker Tire will also offer wheel and tire combos to customers, and those packages will include all of the related accessories. “And they’ll be mounted and balanced for you,” Mooberry said.
Additionally, the company is creating a certified installer program. Consumers will have the option to purchase tires online from Coker Tire and have them drop shipped to that installer for installation.
Among the new tire products is the Coker Classic Star Series, which has been engineered with new molds and compounds. It comes with both a wide and narrow whitewall design and is designed with a low-noise tread pattern. Several of the 28 sizes available, especially those used on larger cars, feature reinforced sidewalls, which categorizes them as “Extra Load” (XL) tires. The tires will be available in the range of 13-inch to 17-inch, with the bulk of options falling in the 14-inch and 15-inch range.
