The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is expanding its Advanced Hands-On Earthmover Tire Service (ETS) training offerings for 2021, with in-person classes scheduled for September and December.
“The hands-on courses allow students to leave with comprehensive knowledge that can only come from a combination of classroom and hands-on instruction,” says Kevin Rohlwing, TIA’s senior vice president of training.
“We are happy to get back out in the field with two more in-person Advanced ETS classes scheduled for this year.”
The classes will be held Sept. 28 through Oct. 1 at Stellar Industries in Garner, Iowa, and Dec. 14 through 16 at AME International in Tampa, Fla. Class sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursdays and 8:30 a.m. to noon on Fridays.
Students will receive training using a service truck, hydraulic tools and a variety of equipment that can aid them in servicing tires.
Course content will include:
- Service truck operation;
- Preventative maintenance training (service truck, crane, compressor, etc..);
- Site preparation and equipment;
- Hydraulic tool operation and maintenance;
- Servicing one-, three- and five-piece rims, both on-machine and loose);
- Wheel and rim fastening systems, and;
- Wheel inspection.
Students successfully completing a final exam will receive a certificate of completion.
