Bridgestone Americas Inc. is investing $51 million in its Williamsburg, Ky., air springs manufacturing plant to help meet growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs).
Nearly 70,000 square feet will be added to the plant, which builds air suspensions and operates under the Firestone Industrial Products (FSIP) banner.
"FSIP is a leading global supplier of air suspensions for the EV industry," according to Bridgestone officials.
"Firestone air suspensions not only help improve ride comfort and handling, but also can increase electric vehicle range and help protect batteries from road impact and overheating."
