The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is expanding its training offerings taught in Spanish with the introduction of a virtual Spanish Certified Commercial Tire Service (CTS) training class in February.
The Level 300 program, hich is designed for experienced employees with at least one year of hands-on experience, will be taught in Spanish by a TIA staff member via the Zoom video conferencing platform.
Coursework will cover 18 different modules, including Occupational Safety Health Administration requirements and single-piece and multi-piece rim demounting and mounting.
"To pass the program, students must successfully complete the final exam and show proficiency in the shop by demonstrating their ability to perform various skills," say TIA officials. "This hands-on work must be witnessed and signed off on by a service manager or supervisor. Students who pass the course will receive a certificate, 13 uniform patches and a two-year subscription to TIA’s bi-monthly publication, Commercial Tire Service Today."
The class will take place Feb. 16-17. It involves six hours of classwork each day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
