Caterpillar has awarded Balkrishna Industries Ltd.'s (BKT) plant in Bhuj, India, with its Supplier Quality Excellence Process Gold certification," an important acknowledgement reserved for suppliers who have stood out during the year for achieving the highest levels in terms of quality and control over processes," according to BKT officials.
The award is "a great success for the Bhuj production site, already BKT's flagship."
The plant manufactures BKT's Earthmax line of OTR tires. The tires are designed "to facilitate better ground load distribution for dump trucks, wheel loaders, dozers, graders and some multi-purpose vehicles. In addition, the tires in the Earthmax range stand out for their all-steel structure, which guarantees resistance for the casing of these products and better distribution of ground loads."
“This certification really means a great deal to BKT," says Arvind Poddar, the company's chairman and managing director.
