Michelin-owned Camso North America has acquired two material handling tire businesses from Metro Industrial Tires, which has locations in the Chicago suburbs of Lombard and Alsip, Ill.
Each location operates a fleet of press trucks, according to Camso officials.
Bob Bulger, vice president and general manager of Camso North America, says the acquisition “will expand and strengthen the chain between tire manufacturing, distribution and service for Camso.
"It will allow us to find new and innovative ways to meet our customers’ ever-changing needs for skid steer tires, rubber tracks, foam-filled tires, filled assemblies and ancillary products, as well as service.”
Bulger calls Chicago “one of the largest material handling markets in the U.S.”
Metro, which was founded in 1983, has been “a valued customer for many years, with an exceptional service model.”
