Registration is open for five virtual educational sessions that were originally scheduled to take place at this year’s Global Tire Expo - Powered by TIA/Specialty Equipment Market Association Show.
“More than 1,000 GTE/SEMA registrants had expressed interest in these seminars, and now they and others will have the opportunity to attend them live online via Zoom,” says Dr. Roy Littlefield, TIA’s CEO.
The sessions will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 3 and Wednesday, Nov. 4. (Click here to register. Attendees will receive a link for each of the sessions, which are free.)
On Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. EDT, Kevin Rohlwing, TIA’s senior vice president of training, will revisit changes to the Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) program, which will impact commercial truck tire dealers.
Also on Nov. 3, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. EDT, TIA Director of Tire Service Matthew White will partner with Dale Soos and Janelle Storey from the Automotive Lift Institute to discuss the most important factors to consider when lifting vehicles. “This session will provide technicians with the tools and information they need to succeed and protect themselves from a serious or fatal injury,” say TIA officials.
From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. EDT that day, Rohlwing will moderate a panel of tire dealers.
On Nov. 4 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. EDT, Rohlwing returns to host a session called “Minimizing Risk When Servicing Truck Tires,” in which he will discuss data from Occupational Safety and Health Administration fatality reports identifying potential hazards when servicing truck tire and wheel assemblies, while providing guidelines that tire technicians can follow to help minimize risk.
In addition, on Nov. 4, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. EDT, Shawn Pease, TIA’s director of automotive tire service, will host a panel titled “Correcting Ride Complaints,” in which Greg Meyer, product manager, wheel balancers, Hunter Engineering Co., and Stewart Peregrine, regional sales manager, Hennessy Industries, will provide helpful tips that dealers can use to quickly and accurately diagnose noise, vibration and harshness concerns.
