Alliance Tire Group (ATG) has announced plans to build a new specialty tire plant in India. The facility represents a $165 million capital investment.
Alliance currently has two other plants in India.
The new facility, which will have a daily production capacity of 55 tons of rubber, is scheduled to begin manufacturing during the first quarter of 2023.
The plant will expand the Yokohama Tire Group's global off-highway tire production network to eight facilities in four countries. (Yokohama owns Alliance.)
Nitin Mantri, director of ATG, says Yokohama's management plan "includes a commercial tire strategy that targets off-highway tires as a growth driver. With increasing demand for our products in global markets, this decision comes at an opportune time."
