Kumho Celebrates 60 Years, Looks to Future

Kumho Tire Co. Inc. is celebrating 60 years in business, but also looking to the future, promising an expanding portfolio of products and services.

The company says its ongoing evolution will remain focused on “innovation, safety and quality manufacturing.”

In a statement, the company talked about its history: “During the past 60 years, we have built a tradition of excellence in providing our customers with innovative ideas to solve user and production challenges in the automobile industry. As the first foreign manufacturer to research and develop the 32-inch UHP radial tires for the U.S. Air Force, we are recognized as the ‘science and technology powerhouse’ in Korea. We ensure our products are at the highest levels of safety and quality in all processes, from design, manufacture, sales, and after-sales support. We also further the reach of our parent company, Kumho Buslines as it continues to grow its global operations, and we are trusted by consumers from 180 different countries around the world.”

In 2016 Kumho opened its first tire factory in the U.S., in Macon, Ga. Two years earlier the company entered into a marketing agreement with the NBA, and the team closest to its plant — the Atlanta Hawks. Kumho is the official tire of the NBA and G-League, as well as the Hawks.
