Mavis Tire Express Services Corp. is adding 39 more retail stores to its network with the acquisition of Jack Williams Tire Co.
The deal includes both the wholesale and retail operations of the Pennsylvania-based Jack Williams Tire. The company's 11 warehouses and wholesale business serves more than 5,000 dealers in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.
The 39 additional retail outlets will give the larger Mavis organization 109 retail stores in Pennsylvania, and nearly 1,500 locations nationwide.
Over time, the Jack Williams stores will transition to the Mavis brand, the companies said in a joint news release.
“We look forward to welcoming Jack Williams team members at their 39 retail stores plus wholesale and warehouse locations to the expanding Mavis family,” said David Sorbaro, co-CEO of Mavis. “Both companies put customers and employees at the heart of everything we do. With more locations across the state, we can serve Pennsylvanians with even greater convenience, while maintaining our shared commitment to quality.”
Mavis has locations in 21 states, and says to meet growing customer demand and the company's expanding footprint in Pennsylvania, it plans to hire an additional 100-plus employees in the state in the next year.
“Doing the right thing for our customers and employees has been Jack Williams’ guiding principle since our founding in 1929,” said Bill Williams, Chairman of Jack Williams. “Now the opportunity to join forces with another industry leader allows us to be part of the best tire and automotive services brand in Pennsylvania and beyond.”
The transaction is expected to close in May.
The deal doesn't include the Jack Williams Equipment specialists business, which will be retained and operated by Scott Williams.
