Michelin Introduces SmartWay-Verified Oliver Tread

July 21, 2022

Michelin North America Inc. has unveiled a new Oliver brand tread, the Vantage Max Drive II, which meets SmartWay requirements for line haul and regional applications.

The tread will be available in five sizes: 210, 220, 230, 240 and 250. At 24/32nds, “it provides 26% more tread depth than the Vantage Max Drive and is designed to deliver improved mileage performance,” according to Michelin officials.

“Oliver’s proprietary rubber compounding helps to provide enhanced fuel savings.”

Michelin officials note that all Oliver tread rubber products include the company’s VDI plus feature, which acts as a visual tread depth indicator, “helping to identify tread pull points while also resisting the retention of road debris.”
