Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. is investing $171 million to boost production at its Yokohama Off-Highway Tires' plant in Visakhapatnam, India. The capital influx will boost the facility's daily production capacity from 55 tons to 123 tons by the first quarter of 2024.

Yokohama Off-Highway Tire has two other plants in India: one in Dahej and another in Tamil Nadu.

The company recently expanded capacity at the Dahej factory.

Yokohama Off-Highway Tire plants manufacture Alliance, Galaxy and Primex brand products used in ag, construction, forestry and industrial applications.

Yokohama Rubber’s medium-term management plan, Yokohama Transformation 2023, "includes a commercial tire strategy that positions the group’s (off-highway tire) business as a future growth driver," say company officials.
