Bridgestone Teams Up with Electric Truck Provider Einride

Aug. 23, 2021

Bridgestone Americas Inc. will be the exclusive tire supplier for Einride electric and autonomous trucks sold in the United States.

The partnership also will pair "Einride's vehicle intelligence with Bridgestone's smart-sensing tire data to drive operational efficiency, safety and sustainability for fleets," according to Bridgestone officials.

As part of the deal, Einride will supply electric trucks for use within Bridgestone's U.S. logistics network.

"The initial truck deployment will transport Bridgestone tire inventory between the company's LaVergne, Tenn., commercial truck tire manufacturing plant and Lebanon, Tenn., distribution facility."

Nizar Trigui, chief technology officer and group president, Solutions Businesses, for Bridgestone Americas, says "there is a very high ceiling for innovation within this relationship, including the use of vehicle and tire data and advanced analytics to drive efficiency, safety and low-carbon fleet mobility."
