Canton Bandag, one of the oldest Bandag retreaders in existence, recently closed after 60 years in business, the company's owner and president, Dave Richards Jr., has confirmed.
The Canton, Ohio-based company was founded in 1962 by Richards' father, the late Everett David Richards Sr., and a financial backer, Carlton Coen.
In addition to retreading, Canton Bandag over the years had expanded into manufacturing solid antique rubber tires, truck wheel polishing and other market segments.
