Continental AG has appointed Greg Bartels to run its specialty tires business unit.
A 29-year Continental veteran, Bartels will be responsible for tire solutions, services and other aspects of Continental's specialty tire business.
He most recently supervised Continental's replacement passenger and commercial tire business in the company's Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
He replaces Wolfgang Thomale, who was recently named head of surface solutions for Continental's industrial group.
Continental’s specialty tires business division includes the company’s global activities "in the development, production and sale of agricultural, earthmoving and port vehicle tires, as well as material-handling, bicycle, motorcycle and racing tires," according to company officials.
