McCarthy Tire Forms Partnership to Bring FDP to Wilkes-Barre

July 17, 2024

McCarthy Tire Service Co. Inc. has joined forces with Bridgestone Americas Inc., Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) and the NEPA Task Force Against Human Trafficking to bring the Freedom Drivers Project (FDP) to the Wilkes-Barre, Pa., farmers market.

The FDP is described as TAT’s “traveling museum” designed to raise awareness about human trafficking and equip community members with resources to identify and report it.

The farmers' market takes place on July 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to speak to representatives from participating organizations and interact with educational materials, displays and more.

At noon, there will be a presentation from each organization, led by Joe Peters, task force member and Wyoming County District Attorney.

Local dignitaries will also be there, including George C. Brown, Wilkes-Barre mayor; Senator Marty Flynn; Senator Lisa Baker; and local law enforcement and district attorneys from surrounding areas.

“McCarthy Tire Service is proud to partner with Bridgestone, TAT and the NEPA Task Force Against Human Trafficking to bring this important program to Wilkes-Barre,” says John McCarthy III, regional president of McCarthy Tire Service.

“Human trafficking is a serious issue that affects communities everywhere, and we are committed to raising awareness and helping to end it.”
