Purcell Tire & Rubber Co. recently held an open house at what it calls “the largest OTR tire retreading plant in North America.”
More than 500 people attended the event, which took place in Potosi, Mo., Purcell Tire’s hometown.
“This was a fun and exciting event put together... to educate and bring awareness to our local community,” according to Purcell Tire officials.
“We welcomed the folks of Washington County (Mo.) with food trucks, music, bounce houses, face painting and more. We ran more tours than we could even keep track of.”
The OTR tire retreading plant in Potosi is one of nine retread facilities that the dealership operates.
With nearly 80 locations stretching all the way up to Alaska, Purcell Tire is the eighth largest commercial tire dealership in the United States, according to the 2024 MTD Top 25 Commercial Tire Dealers list, which appears in the October issue of MTD.
The company, owned by Bob and Juanita Purcell, also is one of the 10 largest retreaders in the U.S., in terms of production. (The Purcells were MTD’s Tire Dealer of the Year Award recipients in 2004.)
