Jim Mayfield Retires as Ralson Tire President

Feb. 28, 2025

Jim Mayfield is retiring as president of Ralson Tire North America Inc. (RTNA) after more than four decades in the tire industry.

Ralson Tire hired Mayfield in 2021 to lead its entry into the United States commercial tire market. Mayfield was named president of Ralson Tire North America in 2023.

The company had recently completed the construction of a technologically advanced medium/heavy truck tire manufacturing facility in Indore, India. The plant produces one million TBR units annually, with the capacity to produce four million units annually.

Today, RTNA has a rapidly expanding distribution footprint in America. The company recently announced the opening of two distribution centers on the East Coast.

“We appreciate all of Jim’s efforts in successfully establishing Ralson in the highly important and intensely competitive U.S. commercial tire market,” says Manjul Pahwa, managing director and CEO of Ralson Tyres Ltd.

“We are honored that he capped his 44-year career in the industry with Ralson and wish him all the very best in his retirement.”

Mayfield began his tire industry career in 1981, when he was chosen to attend Michelin's training school. His first assignment was territory sales manager for Michelin in southwest Florida. His career has included various management positions at several tire manufacturers and a major distributor.

“Linda (Mayfield's wife) and I have experienced 14 moves to different cities during our 44-year career,” says Mayfield. “We have been able to see most of the U.S. and have made friends with wonderful people in the tire industry and in the communities we’ve lived. Helping establish Ralson in the U.S. market was a great way to finish my career and I feel very confident about Ralson’s future here, given their aggressive commitment to this market.”
