The new Cooper Pro Series long haul steer (LHS) tire has four-belt steel design construction and a 7-year, two-retread warranty. The tire is warranted for full replacement value for the first 50% of tread wear.
Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. says its flagship commercial tire features 18/32nds of tread depth and a wider footprint than most steer tires on the market – a full inch in many cases – to provide better traction while promoting longer, more even wear without sacrificing fuel economy.
The ultra-low rolling resistance tire exceeds SmartWay standard requirements by 15% and meets the EPA’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions requirements set for 2021.
The new steer tire is available in size 295/75R22.5 with other sizes becoming available in June 2019. Cooper says it is offering the tire at a price point that makes it a "best buy."
