Trelleborg Wheel Systems and Dana Inc. have unveiled a central tire inflation system, CTIS+, that will let farmers increase or decrease tire pressure levels from their tractors' cabins.
The companies will formally introduce the system on Nov. 11 during the Agritechnica show in Hanover, Germany.
"According to our latest customer surveys, the adoption rate of CTIS systems will accelerate over the next three to five years," says Paulo Pompei, president of Trelleborg Wheel.
"By 2025, CTIS solutions will equip one out of three tractors with over 120 horsepower in Europe and North America. At the same time, we believe that this trend may accelerate if the industry is capable of offering an affordable, efficient, safe and easy-to-use CTIS system."
CTIS+ "will enhance the efficiency and productivity of professional farming," says Aziz Aghili, president of Dana Off-Highway Drive and Motion Technologies.
Trelleborg and Dana are working with tractor manufacturers to make CTIS+ available on original equipment machinery by the end of 2020. "The solution also will be avalable for aftermarket as a retrofit system," notes Pompei.
