The winner of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship could be decided at Hankook Tire America Corp.’s Portland E-Prix race, June 28-30 at the Portland International Raceway.
“The track surface at Portland International Raceway is varied in places, meaning the grip levels are different,” says Manfriend Sandbichler, motorsport director for Hankook.
“Concrete slabs have been laid before turn one, at the end of the start/finish straight, which the drivers approach at top speed. In contrast, the asphalt in the long right-hander after turn nine is badly eroded and slippery. If the drivers manage to keep our Hankook iON Race in the optimal working window, the tire will provide them with good performance and offer them maximum support on the track.”
Also announced is the initial draft of the calendar for Season 11 of the Formula E race. For the upcoming season, the Hankook iON Race and Gen3 Evo cars will travel around the world with 11 rounds and 17 races between December 2024 and July 2025.
