Kumho Tire flexed some muscle in SCCA events

April 20, 2010

Jeff Ringer of Los Angeles, California competing in the Index 1 street tire class in a Honda S2000 and Morgan Trotter of Temecula, California, driving a Subaru Impreza in the Index 2 class both swept their respective street stock classes on the Ecsta XS on back-to-back weekends.

Gary Thomason, multi-national champion, swept both weekends in the Super Stock class in his Porsche GT3 wrapped in Ecsta V710 rubber.

“I really enjoy Super Stock because of the deep talent pool, and the fact that there are fully five cool cars that can win in this class. The San Diego Tour weekend was a perfect example of what I mean with three previous national champs running in the class, each in a different type of car,” stated Thomason. “I was fortunate to come away with a close victory, and part of that win is certainly directly attributable to the big grip and excellent drivability of the Kumho V710.”

Reigning national champion Scott McHugh of Encino, California, also swept the B Stock class in his Chevrolet Corvette.

“The Kumho Ecsta V710s delivered incredible turn-in to maximize corner entry speed and outstanding traction off the corners,” McHugh exclaimed. “Along with the Ecsta’s longer lasting grip, Kumho should be everyone’s first choice for Solo competition!”

Jason Isley of Coto de Caza, California was at the top of the A Stock podium at the San Diego Tour event.  Andy McKee of San Jose, California, also found victory in the Super Street Modified class at the El Toro ProSolo event.

“Wins in different classes demonstrate Kumho’s competitiveness across our entire product line of ultra high-performance tires,” noted Consolacion “We are flattered that veteran champions such as Gary Thomason and Scott McHugh believe in Kumho performance tires as part of their winning formula,”
