SEMA Show, Day Three: 3M gets the word out

Nov. 5, 2009

3M is promoting more than its lead-free composite wheel weights at the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas. It also is promoting education.

"The newest lead weight legislation has clear implications for the wheel and tire industry," says Kyle Lasenby, marketing product manager for 3M Automotive Market Center. "The EPA is becoming more involved in restricting lead use, and the industry needs to know how this impacts them.

"There are lead wheel balancing alternatives available that enable companies to be compliant with the latest rules."

3M recently developed an educational Webinar to inform wheel and tire dealerships of the latest progress in lead restrictions and how they can prepare. The free Webinar is available at www.3M.com/wheelweights.
