BB&T and AAIA create exclusive industry report

Jan. 14, 2009

The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and BB&T Capital Markets have teamed up to provide a new "intelligence report" aimed at the automotive aftermarket. It is available only through AAIA.

"AAIA/BB&T Weekly Automotive Aftermarket Intelligence Update" is part of the association's daily e-newsletter, AAIA SmartBrief. The update, which will appear every Tuesday, was published for the first time in the Jan. 13 edition of the e-newsletter.

The report highlights trends in the automotive aftermarket and further breaks down the industry into four categories based on their primary function in the industry: manufacturers/suppliers; retailers and distributors; service and repair; and collision and salvage.

Major sections of the report will include:

* relative performance of automotive aftermarket stocks versus industry participants and the broader market;

* same store sales comparisons;

* recent mergers and acquisitions;

* operating results; and

* valuation metrics.
